HIHR-13 Rotterdam– November 22, 2023

Impression

HIHR-13 is empowered by Health~Holland,
Top Sector Life Sciences & Health
and supported by Rotterdam Square

We thank all our attendees, pitch presenters and sponsors for another great and highly appreciated 13th edition of HIHR, dynamic and excellently moderated by Jeff Skinner from London Business School.

  • 8 premature ideas got valuable insights and feedback from investors and venture builders during the online Quickfire sessions.
  • Another 8 new spin offs presented their opportunity at an intimate live session in Rotterdam.
  • This was competed by 2 alumni projects who also shared their ‘lessons learned in their start up journey’ ever since their first pitch.

We presented the audience an insight into the HIHR guidance of a researcher towards his final pitch during a session on All the sweat you cannot see. Maxime Nachit from HepaVue DX shared his initial slides and what it ultimately became. This provided a lot of useful information and tips, especially for new spin off teams.
Jeff Skinner (London Business School) and Ivan Burkov (INKEF) concluded during the paneldiscussion How to mate technology with money that “Early phase investors invest in dreams. They won’t invest in a dot, but in a line. It will take some time to get to know a startup and the team before they will put the money on the table.”

Feedback

We highly appreciate your input and feedback and invite you to share your findings via 3 questions on this online feedback form. You can give your input by name or anonymously. Thank you !

“I really liked the session where a pitch was analysed (before – after). Very useful, also for scientists to-become-entrepreneurs.”

Willem-Jan Keune, Business developer, Dutch Cancer Institute NKI

“The HIHR Quickfire Challenge helped our founding team to gain an outside perspective on our business idea early on. This is very valuable for our high tech solution with complex product propositions.”

Paul Spelt, Founder OPE Group B.V.

“It was my honour to present 4Tissue at the 13th edition of Healthy Ideas, Healthy Returns (HIHR) in Rotterdam. Thanks a lot to the passionate organizers Claar-els van Delft and Carla van Heck, and Jeff Skinner for the wonderful moderation of the event. We are also very grateful for the great questions from the audience and the nice interactions at lunch and at the reception. We will certainly stay in contact.”

An Van Den Bulcke, COO 4Tissue
