Our next HIHR-edition will take place in May with online Quickfire sessions scheduled May 6-8 and our live pitch event in Antwerp on May 15. We happily welcome you to connect with the newest academic Health Spin-offs from the Benelux.

(Future) academic spin off projects or established ventures in the human health are warmly invited to join our next edition.

  • 9 early stage ideas or venture proposals not pitch ready yet look forward to receiving feedback during online Quickfire sessions. These 45 minute online sessions will take place from Monday May 6 till Monday May 8, at 9am, 12am or 5pm.
  • 9 selected Start ups seeking (pre-)Seed funding will present their proposition during the life pitch event on the afternoon of May 15.
  • 2 HIHR alumni projects, seeking additional funding in ‘pre-series A’-stage to present their case; they will also share their ‘lessons learned in their Start-up Journey’

During the afternoon programme in addition to the pitches, we we offer again a sneak view on ‘The future of...‘. Prof Annelies Bronckaers of the University of Hasselt will update us on Tooth organoids in dental health innovation.

The live pitch event takes place in Antwerp, in Room with a Zoo, conveniently located directly next to Antwerp Central Station.

Check here our programme offering 20 new spin off projects in the human health.
A syllabus with summaries of all selected projects will be sent upon registration.

On the morning of May 15, we organise a first KTO-meetup. All KTO-staff people are warmly welcomed to meet their peers in the Benelux to get connected and discuss spin-off creation in the health domain. For this first meetup from 10.00 to 11.30am, we will look at a case study and discuss how to get to a winning license agreement in the health sector, for both the university and the spin-off.
We are invited to stay at the University of Antwerp, on a 15 minutes walk from Antwerp Central Station. Logistics will be shared upon registration for this add-on event, which can be done at the KTO-registration form, in the panel hereunder.
