After two years HIHR is happy to reconnect again to Flanders Bio and to organise its 12th pitch-edition in Antwerp on May 31, 2023 with Quickfire sessions scheduled the week before. We settle ourselves again on the eve of Knowledge for Growth and welcome you to a Room with a Zoo, located right next to Antwerp Central Station. Check hereunder our reduction offers to combine the HIHR & EIT Health pitch event with a visit to Knowledge for Growth and/or the State of the Union.

HIHR is teaming up again with the Investor Lounge of EIT-Health. This way HIHR and EIT Health offer projects in the full pipeline the opportunity to connect with investors, industry partners and KTO-professionals.

HIHR and EIT Health proudly offer you:

  • 8 Start ups seeking (pre-)Seed funding who will pitch in the morning on May 31;
  • 1 Alumni project, seeking additional funding in ‘pre-series A’-stage addressing as well a few ‘lessons learned in their Start-up Journey’
  • 4 Scale ups seeking funding from Series A to pre-IPO presenting themselves in the afternoon pitches;
  • 10 early stage ideas or venture proposals not pitch ready yet, who can’t wait to receive your feedback on their pending questions during online Quickfire sessions from May 22 to May 25.

In addition to the pitches, we introduce a sneak view on ‘The future of...’. Dr. Pieter Meysman, senior researcher at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Antwerp will kick off this new series. During the future of AI for health. Pieter will take us along in the (potential) applications of AI in health, specifically in the immune field. With his insights in the research and the entrepreneurial journal the late and exciting developments will be discussed.

Knowledge for Growth & State of the Union

Flanders Bio offers a reduction of 15% on their conference fee for those who want to combine our HIHR event with Knowledge for Growth, the day after. It is also possible to join the State of the Union against reduced fee. You can mark your interest hereto at the HIHR-event registration form.

Venue and directions

The pitch event will take place in the Gorilla room, in a Room with a Zoo, conveniently located right next to Antwerp Central Station. We recommend you to come by train. Check here their website for directions, parking and information to enter the building.

Please enter the building at the Carnot Wing (Carnotstraat). You reach this entrance by crossing the Queen Astrid Square and then turning to the right. The Gorilla rooms are located at the 1st floor.

The State of the Union, organised by Flanders Bio and VIB will take place in the very same building, on the opposite site at the Art Nouveau Marble Hall. There will be ample time to walk from our networking drink to this room in the old part of the building.

Hotel accomodation 

We have managed to arrange hotelsrooms with a reduced fee at the NH Collection Antwerp Centre and the Radisson Blu Astrid Antwerp, both nearby the conference venue. You’re welcome to visit hereto:
