HIHR hosts biannual pitch events. As a benefit of their affiliation, partner Public Research Organisations —including both KTO staff and spin-off team members—receive a number of complimentary tickets to all in-person pitch events, depending on their membership package. 

The HIHR selection committee reviews all nominations to identify the most promising projects. Selected spin-offs receive expert coaching to refine their presentations before pitching at a live event. Projects not yet ready for the main stage are invited to participate in a Quickfire session instead.

Early-stage initiatives are invited to our informal online Quickfire sessions to test their concepts with investors, industry experts, and KTO professionals. Scheduled in the weeks before our main events, these sessions also include access to the live pitch event—perfect for networking and peer learning.

HIHR hosts a series of lunch webinars throughout the year to share expertise on multiple aspects of academic venture building. These online sessions are free and accessible to all employees and spin-off teams of our partner institutions.

As an active contributor to our venture development platform, your institution receives prominent visibility through logo placement on the HIHR website and all promotional materials.

As member you are able to expand your reach by networking with key investors, industry stakeholders, and fellow professionals from partner research institutions during the KTO meet-up meetings.
